Land Under Water
Wednesday the 9th to Friday 11th October 12:00-23:00 (Wednesday 12:00-18:00)
‘Land Under Water’ is an exhibition exploring our possible futures. The project considers how the world will look in the science-based scenarios listed as possible outcomes of global heating. The Maldives will be under water. Venice will suffer the same fate. And for Copenhagen, will the Town Hall Square be a paddling pool? Tivoli a water park? Land Under Water portrays what is fragile – our habitat in a warmer world under threat from sea levels rising.
Chalk lines denoting the sea level rises that follow different temperature rise scenarios cut through Copenhagen on landmarks in an attempt at making the intangible phenomenon global warming tangible. Illustrating how different the city will look in even the best of scenarios – we become aware that our actions today will define the landscape of the future.
Will your home be under water?
