World-leading green regions Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Hamburg and Amsterdam seek cooperation on solutions to the climate crisis

Climate change affects cities and regions around the world. World-leading green metropolitan regions Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Helsinki and Hamburg take the C40 Summit as an opportunity to share visions and outcomes of cutting-edge initiatives toward CO2-reduction. Focusing on initiatives in the topics of Urban mobility, Energy transition and Circular economy, the regions will share the lessons they have learned in the governance at national, regional and local level, the ability to engage citizens and up-scaling potentials. Metropolitan perspectives are introduced by leading politicians and insights are presented by experts.
The five hosting regions discuss opportunities to develop and implement solutions and welcome contributions to our ambitions of creating even greener regions. Join our networking after the session.
Host: Chairman of the Regional Council of the Capital Region of Denmark mrs Sophie Hæstorp Andersen and co-hosted by leading politicians from the four other regions. Mr. Markku Markkula, chairman of Regional Council, Helsinki Region, and First Vice-President, European Committee of the Regions, mrs. Marieke van Doorninck, Vice-Mayor, City of Amsterdam (tbc), mr. Wolfgang Pollmann, State Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Energy, , Hamburg Hansestadt, mrs. Malin Fijen Pacsay, Chair of Regional Climate Board, Stockholm Region.
