Workshop: Make Do & Mend
Friday the 11th October 15:00-22:00
Format: Workshop /Drop in
“Make Do and Mend” was a movement during the Second World War that was based on taking advantage of and reuse existing clothes and repair them instead of buying new ones. This idea is just as relevant today as it was 80 years ago, but from an environmental perspective. Therefore, we need to adopt the “MDM” concept over again. Welcome to an interactive sewing repair workshop where you will learn the basics of sewing and finding fun and simple ways to repair or upgrade your old clothes. Learn how to use a sewing machine as well as techniques for hand sewing. We will look at different ways of thinking around textile repair and what you can do to increase the value of the garment instead of throwing it away.
